The touring or adventure bike that’s standing in your garage came from the factory with a powerful engine capable of propelling it to high speeds. However, such an engine can give out considerable amounts of excess heat that has to be removed with the help of the cooling system. Consisting of a radiator, water pump, hoses, and various other components, such a system is commonly filled with a special mixture of antifreeze and distilled water pumped under pressure to the radiator, so that oncoming air flow could effectively lower its temperature. This type of coolant is formulated to stay liquid even in hard frost without boiling at the engine’s working temperatures.
