Any internal combustion engine produces huge amounts of heat, and the way this heat is removed greatly influences not only the design of the engine itself but also the design of the vehicle it’s intended to power. Your motorcycle’s cylinder heads are a good example of that. They are ribbed to increase the surface area, which in turn increases the amount of heat the assembly can get rid of per given time – say provide efficient air cooling. And if you look at your bike’s frame and overall configuration closer, you will see it’s shaped to help as much air as possible to get to those ribs.

Cylinder head replacement is a tricky job. In part because it’s pretty heavy, in part because it has to be seated perfectly to avoid oil or gas leaks. To be properly seated, the head uses a gasket, studs, and bolts. Designed to expand and shrink under the action of temperature, the head has to be made of corresponding materials and feature certain tolerances, so the quality of this part does matter. Order cylinder heads & components in our store to make sure your cruiser bike gets the quality it truly needs.
