A great variety of motorcycle engine tools can be divided into two common categories. Some of them are used to run diagnostic tests, spot a problem if any, and adjust the engine. Others are required to disassemble and assemble the motor, replace some hard-to-reach parts, and so on. On our virtual shelves, you can find pretty much any engine tools you may need to repair, modify, or tune up your motorcycle and make it work smoothly. Many of them are rather specific and are worth special attention.
For instance, the OTC Cylinder Leakage Tester Kit offered here lets you evaluate the health of your engine based on air pressure measurements. It includes dual gauges, a pressure regulated manifold, hoses, and adapters for screwing into the spark plug holes. Having connected an adequate compressed air source, you will be able to evaluate the relative pressure in a cylinder and possible leaks. A compression tester has something in common with the abovementioned device, but it relies on engine cranking, and its indications can be less precise or even inapplicable to modified motors rated at higher compression.
Besides diagnostic tools, here you will find various specific devices allowing you to do one job or another with maximum convenience and minimum risk of leaving scratches or damaging the motor in any other way. For example, a pushrod tool will let you remove and install the clip on collapsible push rod tubes in Harley-Davidson motors.
