An aftermarket exhaust system can really change the way your bike looks, sounds, and performs. Probably, your machine rolled out of the assembly line with a decent stock exhaust installed. However, it doesn’t mean that OEM components are the finest option, as they are typically built to meet the limited budget and constricted to emissions regulations. Fortunately, the aftermarket industry currently offers a huge range of motorcycle full exhaust systems built around a distinctive sound and look. They also improve your motorcycle’s performance by increasing its engine efficiency and reducing its weight. An exhaust swap is rather easy to do on most bikes. It might be one of the reasons for its popularity among riders.
You can upgrade your motorcycle with a full or slip-on system depending on your personal style and driving needs. Some riders who aren’t so much about great performance enhancements as they are about custom looks purchase and install slip-ons. They replace just the muffler and can dramatically change the sound and style of a motorbike. They also enhance initial throttle response by providing better low end torque. Most aftermarket exhausts are made as four-into-one systems, instead of four-into-two ones. That configuration eliminates the excess weight of the second muffler and improves the flow of gases allowing the engine to breathe more efficiently and generate higher power. To meet various riders’ needs, aftermarket pipes are available in a range of materials from titanium to chrome steel. Each material has its own benefits.
