Riding a motorcycle brings you lots of fun and excitement, but at the same time it can be quite dangerous, so wearing protective gear is a must. As the most important part of riding gear, your helmet provides protection to your head while keeping the elements, cold and debris out. For this reason, it has to fit snugly and be reliably secured. In order to ensure the proper visibility of the road ahead and keep you riding in comfort, your helmet’s shield should also be easy to raise and get fixed in the upper position. This is when a pivot mechanism comes into play allowing for easy operation of the shield.
It is the pivot that secures your shield on both ends of the helmet and enables it to glide up and down. However, if it wears out or gets damaged, it may cause the visor to get stuck or loose which might cause unsafe riding conditions. Therefore, a faulty mechanism has to be fixed ASAP.
