Motorcycle Helmet & Sun Shields

Motorcycle Shield & Sun Shields

If your motorcycle does not have a windshield, the only thing that can protect your face from the elements, bugs, and road debris is a helmet shield. You can boost your protection and comfort with one of our polycarbonate face shields & lenses, featuring anti-scratch coating to keep you safe and cozy in any riding scenario. Our motorcycle helmet shields are offered in a variety of optically correct, aesthetically pleasing designs, and a myriad of clear and color tints featuring a combination of light weight, durability, and good visibility. By using an anti-fog insert, you can prevent your helmet shield from fogging up.

Some manufacturers offer motorcycle helmet shields with a fog-free coating. This technology uses chemical reaction to keep the moisture from your breath from condensing on the shield. The only drawback is that this coating wears off and needs to be re-applied from time to time. Another popular solution to the problem of fogging is a pinlock helmet shield which uses the same principle that we can find in our homes with double-walled glass windows. The air is an excellent insulator, so by creating a pocket of air between a shield with pinlock posts and an additional lens with a rubber gasket that can be fixed on those posts, you can effectively keep your shield from fogging up.

We offer a range of electric helmet shields that are electrically heated. Such an option is especially useful for riding during the cold months helping to eliminate fogging. Electric shields come with the wiring to connect it to the electrical system of your machine. Also, electricity can be used for changing the level of the smoke on a tinted helmet visor. Such LCD face shields are powered by a rechargeable battery. You can change the tint on your visor from medium smoke to dark smoke with the tap of a button. Note that it is not completely clear and not recommended for riding at night.

It is good to have a pair of visors with you during long trips or when you plan on riding during the day and after dark. You need to have a dark-tinted visor for sunny days and a clear one for riding at night. Sure, you can put on a pair of sunglasses and use a clear visor, but remember that when you close the visor on a full face helmet, your sunglasses can fog up easily. There are helmets that utilize a double visor setup. Besides a regular clear face shield, they have an internal drop-down tinted visor that you can use as needed. You just tap a button on the top of the helmet, and a tinted visor hides inside a small void in your helmet.

Remember that when having the convenience of a retractable tinted visor, you trade off your safety in a certain way, since the hollow area at the top of your helmet reduces its crash protection. Some manufacturers offer external tinted visors that cover clear helmet shields, but they provide significantly less sun protection due to the gap allowing the light to leak inside the helmet. On the digital shelves of our online store, you can find a range of orange-tinted helmet shields that are recommended for improving contrast in low-light conditions. Their yellow-tinted counterparts are especially useful for improving visibility during foggy or rainy days.
