To replace your stock triple tree with its aftermarket counterpart, first, you have to remove the front wheel and fender. Take off your handlebar by loosening the bar mounts. Release pinch bolts on upper and lower triple trees to free your fork tubes. Undo the steering stem nut to remove an upper triple tree and pull out the steering stem with a lower tree. If you have decided to reuse your stock steering bearings, clean them with a soft rug and apply fresh grease. Make sure that bearing races are clean and have no signs of wear. Especially the lower one. Re-grease them as well. When sliding your new clamp into the shaft and your fork tubes into the clamps, make sure that control cables are exactly where they need to be. Reassemble your front end, and you are good to go.
